Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 8, 2026
Schedli (“we”, “us”, “our”) is operated from British Columbia, Canada. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
If you have questions, email us at [email protected].
1. What we collect
We collect only what we need to convert your syllabus into calendar events.
Information you provide directly
- Uploaded documents. When you upload a syllabus, we receive the file (PDF, DOCX, or TXT) and the text it contains.
- Google account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, profile picture, and a unique Google account identifier.
- Calendar access. When you grant calendar access, we receive permission to create events in the Google Calendar associated with your account.
- Support correspondence. If you email us, we keep a record of that correspondence.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage data. We log basic information about how the service is used, including page views, button clicks, error reports, and the rough timing of requests. This is used to debug issues and improve the product.
- Device and browser data. We log standard request information (browser type, operating system, IP address) for security and abuse prevention.
We do not use third-party advertising trackers, and we do not sell user data to anyone.
2. What we do with uploaded syllabi
This is the most important part of this policy.
When you upload a syllabus:
- The file is sent to our servers over an encrypted connection.
- The text is extracted and sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to identify dates, events, and metadata.
- The structured event data is returned and shown to you for review.
- The original file is deleted from our servers within minutes of processing.
- After you confirm and sync, the events you approve are written to your Google Calendar.
We do not retain copies of your syllabus after processing is complete. We do not use your syllabus to train any AI models. We do not share your syllabus with anyone other than the AI provider that performs the extraction.
If parsing fails or you abandon the upload, the file is still deleted within 24 hours.
3. What we keep, and for how long
- Account information (name, email, Google ID): kept while your account is active. Deleted on request, or 12 months after your last sign-in, whichever comes first.
- Calendar event metadata (titles and dates of events you synced): kept for up to 90 days so you can re-sync or undo. After 90 days, deleted from our servers. The events themselves remain in your Google Calendar until you delete them there.
- Usage and device logs: kept for up to 30 days, then deleted.
- Support correspondence: kept as long as needed to resolve the matter, then deleted within 12 months.
- Uploaded syllabi: deleted within minutes of processing, never longer than 24 hours.
4. How we share information
We use a small number of third-party services to operate Schedli. We share data with them only as needed to provide the service.
- Anthropic (AI provider): receives the text content of your syllabus to perform date extraction. Anthropic's policies prohibit them from training models on this data when accessed via the API.
- Google (sign-in and calendar): receives your authentication request and any calendar events you choose to sync. Schedli's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- Vercel (hosting): handles the requests that power the website and application.
We do not sell, rent, or share your information for advertising purposes.
5. Your choices and rights
You can:
- Disconnect Google access at any time from your Google account permissions page or from inside Schedli's settings.
- Delete your account by emailing [email protected]. We will delete your account information and any retained event metadata within 30 days.
- Request a copy of your data by emailing [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
- Stop using the service at any time. There is no obligation to delete an account, but you can if you want to.
If you are a resident of Canada or the EU, you have additional rights under PIPEDA, the GDPR, or equivalent local laws, including the right to access, correct, or restrict processing of your personal information. Contact us to exercise any of these rights.
6. Limited use of Google data
Schedli's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
- We use Google account data only to authenticate you and identify the calendar to write to.
- We use Google Calendar access only to create the events you have explicitly approved.
- We do not use Google data for advertising.
- We do not sell or share Google data with third parties.
- We do not allow humans to read Google data except (a) with your explicit permission, (b) to comply with applicable law, (c) to investigate abuse, or (d) when the data is anonymized and aggregated for service improvement.
7. Security
We protect your data with reasonable safeguards: TLS encryption for data in transit, access controls on our servers, and short retention windows that minimize the amount of data we hold. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep our attack surface small on purpose.
8. Children
Schedli is intended for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International users
Schedli is operated from Canada, and our servers may process data in Canada, the United States, or other countries depending on the provider. By using Schedli, you consent to your data being processed in these locations.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify users by email or by a notice on the site at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top tells you when this version was published.
